Holy shit. Ho. Lee. Shiiiiiit. Last nights show was so ridiculously fantastic that I’m still on a high. I love how playing special shows feels. I don’t think we’ve ever played to a crowd that was so up for it and they had no clue who we even were. Now they do. They even made up some backing vocals to Saturday.

I’m lying in bed at the hotel. This is our first time here and we had a pretty eventful evening post-show at the all star chicken Wing factory. I have copious video footage that could retell it far better than I, but I’ll try.

The place is run by a wizard/lunatic. He’s like a chicken hype man. Flava Flav of the poultry kingdom. He runs around squealing and screeching; bigging up your every beer with arms aloft and his immortal catch phrase, “BEEER!! OOOH YAAAAY!”. We all kinda loved him instantly. Creative Man, most generously, footed the bill and made sure we were all obscenely overfed. Now, I don’t mind chicken wings. It’s cool, but I’m not one of these souther American devotees who’ll seek them out across the globe. But hot damn, these were good. They even educated us in how to properly eat a chicken wing. Revelations all round.

The civilised aspect descended into chaos as the Sake bottles stacked up. At various times, pants were ripped, glasses were puked in and chicken was stuffed in places it doesnt belong. Although the Japanese do enjoy a fetish, so maybe this is passable. My cholesterol levels are critical, but otherwise I’m having an amazing time.

We’re off to Yokohama tonight - another first for us. After that we have a day off and two shows in Tokyo. This means one thing. Harajuku. There are whispers of Disneyland also. We’re really testing the waters to see if you can have too much awesome. It would seem not.
