I’ve been awake for the best part of 24 hours. I don’t think i’ll count the intermittent eye closing between 5.30 and 6.30 as sleep. Reason? The usual. Last minute dash to stitch together a new merch run for tour. Sorting out tour production at the last minute.
I’ll upload the shirts we’ll be selling on our tour (which begins on Saturday), later on tonight so you can all have a sneak peak at what we’ll be selling, as we traverse our fair country.
As per usual, there are the usual nudges (thefts) from all my favourite vintage sources and a few nods to some new songs. I’m quite happy with the overall outcome. A few I wanted to use have been left out because a band is a democracy, but I’ll upload them here anywhere. You can let me know if we were right to ignore them and whether to print them further down the line.
On the subject of tour - I am getting increasingly delirious with excitement (read: exhaustion) for our upcoming tour. The past few weeks have been quite turbulent in bandland. Nothing you need to concern yourselves with. It’s just easy to get bogged down in the mechanical side of it, so it’s nice to get down to what we love, y’know. The music part, that is. No job is perfect. Even if it seems so from the other side of a magazine cover. It’ll be awesome to catch up with and play with our good friends in Francesqa, Save Your Breath & Blitz Kids. I’m really pleased to be part of an all British bill. I think we do the whole music thing rather well. It’s quite awesome to be able to fill a bill with so many new and exciting, homegrown bands.
Tour starts in Bristol and visits (in no order) Norwich, Glasgow, London, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, Wolverhampton and Southampton. There are still tickets available. You can check them all at www.kidsinglasshouses.com/2011/dates.
It’d be great to see you all. It’s been far too long.
I’m currently sitting patiently, waiting for the video for Not In This World to download. I have high hopes for it. A few of the shots looked incredible on set. Think “The Road” or “Book of Eli”. Getting our end of the world on. Again.
So yeah. That’s my life in a nutshell right now. All very exciting, restless and unpredictable.
Hope you’re all good and hopefully catch you somewhere over the next fortnight.
